1. Where this policy applies

This policy applies to the VehiWheel website (https://www.vehiwheel.com and localized pages such as /en, /es, and other supported languages), our web application, and our iOS and Android apps when they connect to VehiWheel accounts and services.

Some features work without an account (guest mode); progress may stay on your device until you sign in. Signed-in features sync progress to our servers as described below.

Third-party sign-in providers (Google, Apple) and payment processors (Stripe) have their own privacy policies. We describe how we interact with them in this document.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile

Email address, username, and password (stored as a secure password hash — we never store plain-text passwords).
Optional profile details you provide (for example first and last name, phone number).
Preferences such as selected US state, vehicle type, language, daily study goal, and exam date.
Email verification status, subscription tier, and account activity timestamps (for example last login).

Study progress and feature usage

Practice test answers, completion status, and per-question progress.
Exam simulation attempts, scores, and related statistics.
PDF manual reading progress and video manual watch progress when you use those features while signed in.
Road signs and cheat sheet usage tied to your session or account where applicable.
Guest-mode progress stored locally on your device until you create an account or sign in; you may merge guest progress when you authenticate.

Device and session data

A device identifier used to manage active sessions, enforce device limits on paid accounts, and protect account security.
Authentication tokens when you sign in (access and refresh tokens on clients; refresh tokens stored in hashed form on our servers).
Device list and session metadata when you use account device management.

Payment and subscriptions

Subscriptions and purchases on the web are processed by Stripe. We receive subscription status, Stripe customer identifiers, and billing-related metadata. We do not store full payment card numbers on VehiWheel servers.

Sign-in with Google or Apple

If you choose OAuth sign-in, we receive information from the provider (such as email address and a provider user identifier) according to your choices and their policies, to create or link your VehiWheel account.

Technical and usage data

Server logs (IP address, request timestamps, error diagnostics) retained for security and reliability.
Optional analytics on web or mobile, only where enabled and, on the web, where you accept optional cookies in our cookie consent banner.

Cookies and local storage

Essential cookies and browser storage for language, authentication, device identifier, consent choice, and application functionality.
Optional analytics cookies on the web only if you choose “Accept all” in our cookie consent banner.
Local storage on your device for guest progress, UI preferences, and similar app data.

3. How we use information

Provide practice tests, exam simulation, manuals, road signs, cheat sheet, statistics, and related learning features.
Create and manage your account, authenticate you, and sync progress across devices when signed in.
Send transactional email required for security: email verification after registration and password reset links when you request them.
Process subscriptions, show premium access, and enforce freemium limits where applicable.
Manage device sessions and paid-account device limits.
Improve reliability, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and protect our services.
Comply with law and respond to lawful requests.

4. Email communications

We send email only for account-related, transactional purposes: verifying your email address after signup and sending password reset links when you request them. We do not send marketing or newsletter campaigns through this system.

Transactional email is sent from noreply@vehiwheel.com via Amazon Simple Email Service (SES). You cannot opt out of these security messages while using email-based authentication.

We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers that help us operate VehiWheel (cloud hosting, email via Amazon SES, payments via Stripe, analytics where enabled).
Authentication providers (Google, Apple) when you choose to sign in with them.
Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

6. Data retention

We keep account and synced progress data while your account is active. You may reset study progress from account settings; that removes applicable progress data from your account while keeping the account itself.

Study progress synced to your account is kept while you use VehiWheel regularly. If an account stays inactive for a long period, we may remove stored study progress to limit unnecessary data storage; your account and billing records are handled separately.

Email verification and password reset tokens expire automatically (typically within 24 hours). Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, token rotation, and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password and keep your devices secure.

8. Your choices and rights

Use guest mode without an account; progress may remain on your device only.
Access and update profile and preference data in account settings.
Sign out and revoke sessions on your devices from account settings where available.
Reset study progress from account settings without deleting your account.
Control optional web cookies via our cookie banner (essential cookies are required for core functionality).
Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data, subject to applicable law.

9. Children’s privacy

VehiWheel is intended for users preparing for a driver’s license, typically aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. International users

VehiWheel is operated from the United States. If you access our services from other regions, your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
